Which ERPs work with Narada
Narada works with any ERP that can export a report to a file. There are three ways for your data to arrive, and none of them changes anything in your ERP.
| Way in | Works with | After setup |
|---|---|---|
| Direct connection | Odoo | Narada reads it every night. Nothing to send |
| Scheduled email | Any ERP that can email a report on a schedule, such as NetSuite | Your ERP emails each file to a private Narada address |
| File upload | Any ERP that exports CSV, Excel (.xlsx), tab-separated text or XML | You or the Narada team load the files |
For the first load, most clients send two years of history as one zip, and the Narada team loads it. Daily files only need the last few days. See The files Narada needs and Data.
Odoo sends files, like every other ERP. Narada no longer offers a direct Odoo connection. Your Odoo partner can schedule the exports, or someone exports them once a week.
When you export:
- Sales come from posted customer invoices, 18 to 24 months back. Never export draft invoices.
- Set the list to show all rows before exporting. Odoo shows 80 by default.
- Very large exports can time out. Export month by month if that happens.
- Set the exporting user’s language to English.
When you place a Narada order in Odoo, put Narada’s PO number in Source Document. That lets Narada match the order when it comes back in your files.
Oracle NetSuite
Section titled “Oracle NetSuite”Set up a saved search for each file and email it on a schedule to the address Narada gives you. No one needs to run it after that.
- Sales: a transaction search of invoices, with date, document number, item, quantity, rate and location.
- Use the Rate column, not Amount. Amount is quantity times rate, so every unit price would be wrong.
- Keep the Name column on item, customer and vendor searches. It holds the code.
- A scheduled search runs as the person who owns it. If that person loses access, the file shrinks without an error. Use a stable owner.
When you place a Narada order in NetSuite, write Narada’s PO number in Memo.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
Section titled “Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central”Export each report as a file. Business Central can also email reports on a schedule. We confirm that setup with you on your first files.
- Export sales from Sales Invoice Lines, not Item Ledger Entries. The ledger shows sales as negative quantities.
- Use Unit Price, not Sales Amount (Actual). Sales Amount is the line total.
- Lead times in Business Central are written as formulas, such as 3W. Convert them to days.
When you place a Narada order in Business Central, put Narada’s PO number in Vendor Order No. or Your Reference.
SAP Business One
Section titled “SAP Business One”Run each export as a query in Query Manager, export it to Excel and save it as CSV. Your SAP consultant can set this up.
- Keep codes as text. Excel drops leading zeros, so 00412 becomes 412.
- If the Excel export button is greyed out, your administrator needs to allow Excel export for your user.
TallyPrime
Section titled “TallyPrime”Export by hand as CSV: Stock Summary for stock, Day Book for sales, with quantities, rates and voucher details switched on. A weekly export works. A Tally partner can automate it.
Tally adds units and currency to numbers, such as “500 pcs”. Narada strips those words and reads the number.
Any other ERP
Section titled “Any other ERP”Other ERPs, such as Prophet 21, send files by upload or scheduled email. We do not have a step-by-step guide for every ERP yet. Your ERP consultant exports the standard reports listed in The files Narada needs. Column names do not have to match ours. We check every match before your files load.
A few rules for any ERP:
- One header row per file. Blank cells left empty, not “NULL” or “N/A”.
- A return is a negative quantity at a normal price.
- Keep codes as text, so leading zeros survive.
Past stock counts: check this first
Section titled “Past stock counts: check this first”The free report needs your stock as it was on past dates, not just today. Some ERPs can print stock on a past date. Others, such as TallyPrime’s Stock Summary, only show today. Then your consultant rebuilds the history from the stock transaction log, which is usually the biggest job of the export. Without it, the report cannot value your past stock, and says so. See The files Narada needs.
