Your buying day
Most buyers place orders once a week. This page walks you through that day in Narada, from the buy list to a purchase order your supplier receives.
Narada does the counting and drafts the orders. You make every decision and place every order in your ERP yourself. Narada never sends anything to a supplier.
What to Order and Orders come with the Planner plan.
Before your first buying day
Section titled “Before your first buying day”Open Your Numbers and fill in each supplier’s order email and minimum order. Every default you replace makes the buy list fit your business better. See Your Numbers.
Step 1: Read Narada’s read
Section titled “Step 1: Read Narada’s read”Open Order → What to Order. The short paragraph at the top says how much to order, which lines look unusual, and what could be moved between branches instead.
If a red unusually large banner shows, check those lines first.
Step 2: Check the lines that differ from how you usually buy
Section titled “Step 2: Check the lines that differ from how you usually buy”Click Differs from your usual. On each line, press Show and read why.
Either Narada knows something you don’t, like rising sales or a late supplier. Or you know something it doesn’t, like a promotion or a lost customer. Change the quantity where you disagree.
Step 3: If one part looks wrong, open its page
Section titled “Step 3: If one part looks wrong, open its page”Click the part’s name. Its page shows every branch, the forecast with its likely range, and each number worked out step by step. See A part’s page.
Step 4: Move stock before you buy it
Section titled “Step 4: Move stock before you buy it”Open Transfer before you buy. If one branch has more of a part than it needs, Narada suggests moving it instead of buying more. Press Apply to take those quantities off the order, then move the stock in your ERP. Narada does not create the transfer.
Step 5: Group the order by supplier
Section titled “Step 5: Group the order by supplier”Open Build by supplier. On each supplier’s card, check that the order clears their minimum, and whether they deliver later than they promise.
A card that says Needs a decision on the Orders desk comes first. See Orders.
Step 6: Draft the purchase orders
Section titled “Step 6: Draft the purchase orders”Tick the lines you want and press Build PO. You need the “Draft purchase orders” permission. Narada drafts one purchase order per supplier and opens the first. See What to Order.
Step 7: Check and place each order
Section titled “Step 7: Check and place each order”- On the purchase order, check the supplier, the Delivery by date and the terms.
- Open Why this quantity on any line that looks off. Change a quantity or cost and save it, with a short reason.
- Press Save changes, then Download for my ERP. Add the file in your ERP. Your ERP sends it to the supplier, as always.
- Press Placed in my ERP. If a supplier wants a document, press Download PDF and send it from your own email.
See Purchase Orders.
How do I know it worked?
Section titled “How do I know it worked?”After Placed in my ERP, the order counts as on its way. Downloading the file alone does not mark it placed. Your next ERP purchase order file confirms it. If an order runs late, it shows up on the Orders desk, where you tell Narada whether it is still coming.
