When you disagree with Narada
You know things Narada cannot see: a lost customer, a promotion, a supplier who just changed. When a suggestion looks wrong, you decide. Narada suggests and drafts. You change anything before it goes anywhere.
| You disagree with | Do this | Does it stay changed overnight? |
|---|---|---|
| A quantity on the buy list | Change it before Build PO, or on the draft | On a draft, yes. The buy list itself is worked out fresh each night |
| A line you do not want this week | Untick it | No. It shows again tomorrow if it is still needed |
| A finding that is not a problem | Dismiss it, with a reason | Yes. It stays away until you reopen it |
| A finding you will deal with yourself | Claim it, so the team knows it is yours | It stays on the list until the problem clears |
| The same kind of suggestion, again and again | Fix the setting behind it on Your Numbers | Yes, from the next overnight run |
| A number you think is simply wrong | Email support@naradaos.com | We fix it |
First, find out why
Section titled “First, find out why”Before you change anything, press Show on the line. It shows each step of the sum: expected sales, the supplier’s wait, the spare stock, what is already on order, and the supplier’s rules.
Either Narada knows something you don’t, such as a supplier running late or sales rising. Or you know something it doesn’t, such as a customer who has left. Differs from your usual on What to Order lists the lines that are unlike your past orders, so you can check those first.
Changing a quantity
Section titled “Changing a quantity”On the buy list, change the quantity of a ticked line before you press Build PO. Once a purchase order is drafted, open it, change the quantity and save. A big change asks for a short reason.
The overnight run never changes a draft. Your edit stays. See Purchase Orders.
Leaving a line out
Section titled “Leaving a line out”Untick the line, and it stays off this order. Narada does not remember that you skipped it. If the part still needs buying tomorrow, it shows again. That is on purpose: a part that needs buying should not vanish because it was skipped once.
Testing a different number
Section titled “Testing a different number”On a part’s page, you can try a different lead time or spare-stock target and see what it would change. The test is not saved and does not change the buy list. If the new number is right, change it where it lives: on Your Numbers, or on the supplier’s card.
Dismissing or claiming a finding
Section titled “Dismissing or claiming a finding”Open the finding. Dismiss asks for a reason, then keeps it away until someone reopens it. Reopen brings it back. Claim puts your name on it, so the team knows you have it. See A finding.
You can also ask Ask Narada to stop raising one kind of alert, such as slow movers. It prepares a card, and nothing changes until you confirm it.
When the same disagreement keeps coming back
Section titled “When the same disagreement keeps coming back”That usually means a setting does not match your business. Common ones:
- Orders feel too big: check What holding stock costs you and each supplier’s minimum on Your Numbers.
- Too much spare stock on slow parts: check the Lost-sale share for C items. Empty means Narada assumes every stockout loses the sale.
- A supplier’s lead time is off: check their card on Your Numbers. Narada plans on the measured time once there are enough deliveries.
See How sure Narada aims to be and What sets your safety stock.
What you cannot change yet
Section titled “What you cannot change yet”- A forecast. You cannot pin or override a forecast. Change the order quantity instead.
- A single part’s target. Targets come from the part’s class and its own money, not a per-part number.
Tell us
Section titled “Tell us”If Narada is wrong, we want to know. Email support@naradaos.com with the part, the branch, what Narada suggested and what you expected. See Getting help.
